Bookings Secretary, Emma-Jayne Gladman has also been working hard to collate a 2020/21 programme that will hopefully launch in September. If the Concordia Theatre can re-open at this time, the season will kick off with the two postponed dance school productions from Pat Barker and Wendy Morton dance academies.
LEGALLY BLONDE – CYT PRODUCTION
It has also been announced that the Concordia Youth Theatre production of ‘Legally Blonde’ that was postponed will now be their June 2021 production, finally giving the cast the opportunity to showcase the effort that had already gone into the production.
“THE CONCERT THAT NEVER WAS” – HCA FUNDRAISER
Another production that was sadly cancelled, Ian Cray’s “The Concert That Never Was” – a tribute to Buddy Holly and Johnny Cash is likely set to come to the Concordia stage in September 2021.
CHICAGO – HCA FUNDRAISER
On a sadder note, the September Fundraiser, Chicago has had to be cancelled due to a lack of rehearsal time from now until September. At the moment the licence holder has put a restriction on the musical for amateur rights so it is unlikely that this particular production will go ahead in the foreseeable future.
PUTTING TOGETHER A PROGRAMME BLINDFOLDED
Without a crystal ball, only speculation remains on how and when restrictions will be lifted. This obviously has an impact on collating a programme without having a target date. So, bearing this in mind, there may yet be future amendments to the programme before we can finally publish it.
There is also the huge consideration of societies having adequate time to rehearse their show as well as staging logistics. All of which needs to be taken into account.
